Featured on CATCH JAPAN one year ago, the Osaka Wonder Loop Bus supports the bustling tourism business in Osaka, which ground to a halt as the global coronavirus pandemic hit. However, the man behind the Osaka Wonder Loop Bus, Hori Kanji, is turning this dire challenge into a major opportunity. This segment features his initiatives for reenergizing Osaka tourism.

It was eye-opening to see the sharp contrast between May 2019 and May 2020 along with the loss in revenue. However, I loved the positive and optimistic attitude that Hori and the other business owners have concerning the future of Osaka tourism after the pandemic.
From Nigeria
The scenes showing the shopping arcade crowded, then empty, as well as the banks of the river devoid of people, really brought home to me, the viewer, of how much this virus has affected the world, as a whole. I have seen scenes like these on the news and other programs, but the empty streets, river banks and other potential tourist spot as depicted on this show, made a bigger impact on me because it was described by Hori Kanji, really touched a chord. Still, it looks as though Hori Kanji and his associates will turn this calamitous incident into an opportunity which will rejuvenate and boost Osaka and its tourism trade.
From Australia
This segment revisiting the work of Hori Kanji, gave a very clear example of the impact of COVID-19. I loved Hori’s positivity, even in the face of a 95% loss of revenue. His collaboration with ECC and Yolo Japan were both fascinating and inspiring and together aptly demonstrated his commitment to moving forward despite the effects of the virus.
